THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL FOOD BLOG
We really aren’t your typical food bloggers. We work in tech and using the word “busy” to describe our workdays is an understatement. We love food, but with our limited hours, you’ll find our recipes are fully reflective of our personalities.
Kevin's recipes are focused on the things we love to eat that are extremely challenging; delicacies you'd typically reserve for eating in restaurants. Because if it's not challenging, it's not worthwhile. There's also the promise of beating somebody at their own game.
Sylvia's recipes, on the other hand, are all about the opposite. As a busy mom she's always looking for easy shortcuts to get healthy eats onto the table. Being a cancer survivor means she's always looking to bolster the family's vegetable intake, so here you'll find her super simple vegetable recipes that have been proven to get the kids eating greens. Nothing fancy, just recipes to get you by day-to-day.
Our family reviews of restaurants and cafes, in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond, are just a parodies of our real life interactions. We endeavour to make you laugh, because as great as food may be, it is only as great as the company you eat it with.
What you can expect
- Grand or scrappy. Either it’s grand and showcase worthy for your once-in-a-lifetime dinner party, or scrappy for your weekday family dinner. There’s nothing in between. The in between is a dead zone anyway (tech pun intended for those in tech).
- Asian inspiration. Our Asian heritage means we tend toward Asian flavours. Don’t know the difference between Tamari and Soy Sauce? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
- Kid friendly. Our kids eat what we eat. If it works for us, it can work for you too!
- New discoveries. The world is an endless source of new ingredients and flavors. Don’t get stuck with the same old! We actively seek out new fruits, veggies, sauces etc.
